My grandparents were Migrant Farm Workers, they began working when they were just children and never really had a home as they traveled throughout the Southwest following work around. My parents developed a strong work ethic and worked hard so that we were able to travel, experience culture, participate in extra curricular activities and most importantly participate in sports! I graduated from UTA in 2007 with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and now work at Workforce Solutions for Tarrant County as a Career Counselor where I am able to help and encourage people to meet self sufficiency and obtain their career goals. It is because of my parents and grand parents that I have a great job, a home and a beautiful family and in my opinion, living the American Dream.
