Homeless Services :: Transitional Housing Program (THP)

The Transitional Housing Program (THP) formerly known as the Supportive Housing Program (SHP) is a federally funded program designed to serve homeless persons. The THP program is regulated by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), and managed and operated in Arlington by the Housing Authority of the City of Arlington (AHA).

The purpose of the THP program is to provide supportive housing in connection with supportive services to homeless persons to enable them to live as independently as possible.

Criteria for Eligibility:

Generally homeless persons are referred to the AHA for participation in the THP program by agency partners such as the Arlington Life Shelter, area churches, and faith-based organizations. Eligible applicants must meet the HUD definition of homelessness and the HUD Income Limits.
