Firefighter Hiring Process 2019

Applicants interested in an entry level position as a firefighter must take the Civil Service entrance exam and score 70% or better for further consideration. The exam is open to those who meet the minimum qualifications based on Texas Local Government Code Chapter 143, Arlington Civil Service Local Rules, and Texas Criminal Justice Information Systems.

The 2019 Hiring Process is tentatively scheduled to open October 2018. Please check back for updates on the Hiring Process.

Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) Information

All employees of the Arlington Fire Department, regardless of position or assignment, are required to meet and maintain qualifications for Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) access, as specified by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement’s Texas CJIS Systems Access Policy.  Please review additional information on the Texas Department of Public Safety website.
