30 Days Left Until the Launch of Metro ArlingtonXpress

There are only 30 days left before the new Metro ArlingtonXpress, or MAX, starts rolling through the city.

Beginning Monday, August 19, MAX will link downtown Arlington and University of Texas at Arlington to CentrePort Station/DFW Airport Station, where riders can catch the T, TRE or DART to other destinations in the area.

People can visit www.ridethemax.com to view easy-to-read timetables, ticket information, maps and other details for planning a trip to Dallas, Fort Worth or DFW Airport using MAX.

Service is expected to run Monday-Friday between 5:35 a.m. and 9:45 p.m.

This new venture is a partnership between the City of Arlington, the T, TRE, DART, Arlington Chamber of Commerce and University of Texas at Arlington.

  1. I am an Arlington citizen and don’t remember voting on this. I don’t like public transportation in my city. So now thugs can catch a ride to Arlington.
The way I see it is, if someone has to ride a bus to get everywhere, this means they are poor. And if they are poor, they steal.

    Very nice Arlington.

    1. This is a two-year pilot project. The cost is $700,000 per year with the City putting in $350,000, the University of Texas at Arlington putting in $230,000 and the Arlington Chamber of Commerce putting in $120,000. A vote would only be required if the City wished to use sales tax to cover the cost of service. The City’s $350,000 is coming from the General Fund.
