Exciting New Changes Coming to MAX

Articles MAX 09-10-13

Commuters riding the new Metro ArlingtonXpress, or MAX, between College Park Center on the campus of UT Arlington and the Trinity Railway Express’ CentrePort/DFW Airport Station will soon have another travel option.

Beginning Monday, November 4, MAX buses will stop on Collins Street, just south of Andrews Street in the Entertainment District and one block south of Lincoln Square. Signs identifying the new stops are expected to go up this weekend.

Passengers boarding MAX in the Entertainment District can ride to UT Arlington or the Trinity Railway Express CentrePort/DFW Airport Station where they can take a TRE train to Dallas or Fort Worth or the DART 500 bus to DFW International Airport.

Riders then can also connect to other destinations by using a T bus in Fort Worth or a DART bus or train in Dallas.  And they can do all of this for just $5 per day!

Thanks to GoPass, a new mobile ticketing application, MAX riders are able to buy and use passes instantly on a web-enabled smartphone—anywhere, anytime. Tickets can be purchased for MAX, TRE, DART, the T and DCTA. Visit www.GoPass.biz to download the free app.

MAX will also be adding a few additional later evening trips to the schedule. Buses will operate Monday through Friday from about 5:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. with pick-ups and drop-offs scheduled at multiple times throughout the day. Service at the new stop and schedule changes will be implemented on Monday, November 4, 2013.

I’ve ridden it 2-3 or more times a week, since it started 19 AUG. Still needs a few adjustments on scheduling, but overall, doing quite well. This is a commuter connection route, so it would need a longer range of… Read more »
