The City of Arlington is in the process of developing a citywide Comprehensive Housing Strategy, and is anticipating residents’ participation in a survey regarding existing housing conditions and future housing needs and opportunities within the City.“The Community Development and Planning Department plans to use the survey results to guide potential policy recommendations for housing development and redevelopment for the next five years and beyond,” Planning Manager, Elaine Dennehy, said. “The results will also help us understand the state of affairs for single family, multi-family, and off-campus student housing.”The Housing Strategy will aim to inform the public, policy makers and stakeholders about the City’s current housing conditions and market trends. It will also develop a practical, viable and implementable set of data and information that is specific to the needs, concerns and future of housing in the City. The Strategy will provide the foundation and insight the City needs to develop effective, informed and focused housing policies, plans and programs that will create and maintain a spectrum of housing choices and opportunities for residents.
