Six Flags Over Texas Hosts AISD Education Celebration!

The Arlington ISD Education Foundation is teaming up with Six Flags Over Texas to host the 2nd annual Education Celebration! event on Friday, April 17 from 6-11 p.m.

The proceeds benefit both AISD schools and the Foundation.

Event organizers are encouraging attendees to buy their tickets early because there is more benefit to AISD schools for advance ticket sales.

To purchase tickets, go to and type in your school’s gift code.

For each online ticket purchased by February 28, $5 of the admission fee benefits the designated Arlington ISD school.

After that time, $3 benefits an individual school for each ticket purchased.

The event is the brainchild of longtime Arlington ISD supporter and local businessman Chad Bates. Bates and his wife, Joy, are co-chairs of the event.

“This event is set up to become a tradition and a great benefit for our local schools for years down the road,” said Bates. “We are encouraging corporate sponsors to support our schools through this event and support our economically disadvantaged students who may have never been able to afford the Six Flags experience although it’s practically right in their backyard.”

Special discounted parking will be $10 per car (at the gate). There are a limited number of tickets available so event organizers are encouraging that AISD supporters purchase online tickets as soon as possible.

I can’t get excited about students (who either live by or go to school near gas wells) attend Six Flags and be subjected to the downwind emissions from GM “AND” their on-site gas wells too.

Breathe safe now ya’ll in our Arlington (not’so family friendly/liveable) Entertainment District. #industrialNotcompatible2citizens
