CNBC contributor and nationally recognized economist Dr. Peter Navarro gave the keynote speech at this year’s Arlington Convention & Visitors Bureau annual meeting and breakfast.

The event, hosted by the Arlington Convention Center, featured a presentation by Navarro titled “Economic Trends Arlington Cannot Afford To Ignore.”

Over the past decade, Peter Navarro has been a keynote speaker on management, finance, global politics and the economy at hundreds of events.

Navarro is is also a business professor at the University of California at Irvine.

Navarro’s unique and internationally recognized expertise lies in his big picture application of a highly sophisticated but easily accessible macroeconomic analysis of the business environment and financial markets for investors and corporate executives.

150-200 representatives attend this event each year from Arlington’s attractions, restaurants and hotels to hear about the state of Arlington tourism, updates on progress and what’s in store for the next fiscal year.

The event also featured a presentation by Arlington CVB President & CEO Ronnie Price, talking about the tourism accomplishments of The American Dream City in 2015, including the first-ever College Football Playoff National Championship and the 50th annual Academy of Country Music Awards at AT&T Stadium.

The City of Arlington also saw a 7.9% increase in hotel revenue for available rooms in 2015.
