Backstage Arlington: Bachata and Salsa Dancing at Vivé by Design

MyArlingtonTV is taking a trip across The American Dream City to showcase some of the diverse musical acts happening in Arlington’s schools, restaurants, churches and neighborhoods.

Hosted by Tika Cook, “Backstage Arlington” highlights some of the different music acts and performing venues that exist in Arlington. The newest episode features bachata and salsa dancing at Vivé by Design Fitness & Dance Studio, located at 2704 W Park Row Dr, Arlington, TX 76013.

Bachata is a style of social dance from the Dominican Republic which is now danced all over the world. Salsa is a popular form of social dance that originated in New York City with strong influences from Latin America, particularly Puerto Rico and Cuba.

In August 2013, owner and founder Kennya Sanchez opened Vivé by Design in The American Dream City to offer Zumba. Sanchez opened the business after being diagnosed with Lupus.

Sanchez felt motivated to live her life with both movement and energy. She began encouraging others to define their own purpose for themselves, which is where the name of the studio originated from. “Vivé” means “to live” in Spanish, so Vive by Design means to live with purpose.

Today, Vivé is growing and impacting more lives than ever, offering Zumba, Salsa and Bachata Lessons, Kangoo Jump Class (the only one in Texas), Country Dance Classes, Total Body Fitness, ATS Belly Dance, Children’s Ballet, Tap, Jazz, and Tumbling Classes and Special Event Choreography.
