On the Clock with the City of Arlington’s 911 Dispatch Services

“On the Clock” is a show that gives residents an inside look at the hard work city employees do every day to make Arlington a better community to live, learn, work and play.

The episode, hosted by City Manager Trey Yelverton, gives residents a behind-the-scenes look at the City of Arlington’s 911 Dispatch Services.

Arlington dispatch is a centralized dispatch center, meaning the City answers all 911 and 10 digit number calls for police, fire and ambulance service at one central location.

The center answered 411,075 calls in 2016 and the City’s goal is to answer 90 percent of all calls within ten seconds or less. The 911 center also dispatched 344,223 police calls, 44,405 fire calls, and 52,311 medical emergency calls in 2016.

The City’s Office of Communication develops programming for MyArlingtonTV. Viewers can find MyArlingtonTV programs on the following cable systems: Time Warner Channel 16 and AT&T U-Verse channel 99, and streaming capabilities at www.arlington-tx.gov.
