Arlington Releases 2017 Popular Annual Financial Report

Want to see how your tax dollars were spent last year? Interested in learning about major economic development deals, infrastructure investments and new programs and initiatives that aim to improve the quality of life in The American Dream City?

If so, check out the City of Arlington’s 2017 Popular Annual Financial Report (PAFR). It’s our version of a corporate annual report, condensed to a few pages of interesting stories and financial information.

“Our goal is to make government transparent to residents, businesses, visitors and other community stakeholders,” said Marketing Communications Manager Jay Warren. “As we’ve done previously, we’ve made the publication available in an e-reader format, providing even more layers of interactive content with hyperlinks to videos, stories and websites.”

These include announcements about new businesses such as Summit Racing Equipment and General Motors’ Automotive Logistics Center bringing high-paying jobs to Arlington, updates on the future Globe Life Field and Texas Live! entertainment complex, and investments in our parks, libraries and recreation centers. You can also learn more about innovative transportation technology pilot programs, such as Via on-demand rideshare and Milo autonomous shuttles, and strategic street and highway construction projects throughout the city that are designed to enhance regional mobility.

The PAFR is a citizen-friendly financial report that uses narrative, photos and graphics to explain the information found in the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR). Both are published at the same time each year.
