Construction Briefing Meeting Set April 16 on Residential Street Rebuild Project

The City of Arlington will soon begin work to rebuild three east Arlington roadways.

A construction briefing meeting is set for 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, April 16, 2018, to describe work planned for the 2017 Residential Street Rebuild, Phase I project. The purpose of this meeting, which will be held in the Council Briefing Room, located on the 3rd floor of City Hall, 101 W. Abram St., is to provide information and answer questions residents may have concerning the construction.

This project, which includes water and sanitary sewer renewals in addition to rebuilding the identified residential roadways as concrete streets, is scheduled to begin this May and be complete by May 2019.

The project area will focus on:

  • Inwood Drive between Collins Street and Daniel Drive
  • Southmoor Drive between Collins Street and Daniel Drive
  • The section of Rayborn Drive between Inwood Drive and Biggs Circle

  1. I live on Southmoor in the middle of Daniel and Collins. How will parking be during these times. I recently moved off another street in Arlington undergoing this same construction but was a much safer area. There’s a sense of concern for having to park far away from home at night because of not being able to park at the house. Also cars being vulnerable to break ins cause they may not be invisible to owners. Can we have extra police presence in the area for suspicious activity

    1. Thank you for your questions. We encourage you to please join us at the Construction Briefing Meeting at City Hall this upcoming Monday, April 16, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. to voice your concerns and questions about the project. Regarding your request for extra police presence, please contact the police department or use the “Report a New Request” tool within the Contact Us section of the City of Arlington’s website.
