The Pro Players Foundation recently celebrated the grand opening of a new playground for the children served at Mission Arlington’s Meadow Lane location.

The new playground at 1901 Meadow Lane is a part of the “Instant Replay” program at Pro Players Foundation, which is designed to rejuvenate neglected sports facilities and play spaces and to engage kids in positive activities. United Development Company and Child’s Play, Inc. joined Mission Arlington and the Texas Rangers to design the new playground.

The Meadow Lane location of Mission Arlington offers free after-school programming for Arlington youth in need, supporting a student’s educational achievement. In addition, Mission Arlington also offers free Summer “Day Camps” for youth whose parents are at work. The Camps give students a place to be, free lunches throughout the summer, and something constructive to do.

Pro Players Foundation is a group of professional athletes, business and community leaders who volunteer their time and talents to assist disadvantaged youth. With the mission of “Enriching the Lives of Children,” PPF uses a variety of initiatives to help make sure every child has the ability to succeed and the opportunity for a bright future.

To date, the foundation has helped thousands of children in North Texas with such basics as providing funding for shoes and immunizations to awarding scholarships for camps, providing young athletes with necessary sports equipment and giving gifts of bicycles at the holidays.

The Pro Players Foundation, which completed another playground for Mission Arlington last December, plans to build a third playground for the nonprofit later this year.
