Arlington’s Steve Wall Helping Area Homeowners Live the American Dream

Arlington native and Bowie High School graduate Steve Wall is living his American Dream as the founder and CEO of Carnegie Homes. Wall has been a leader in the efforts for affordable housing throughout Texas and Georgia for nearly 30 years.

“The American Dream for me is having the ability to go accomplish the things that you want to go accomplish without interference,” Wall said. “If that’s something you believe in and you’re passionate about it, you can make it happen.”

Prior to founding Carnegie Homes, LLC, he was the president and CEO of Wall Homes. In this capacity, he grew the company from a startup phase to a competitive homebuilder in the DFW Metroplex, San Antonio, and Houston, Texas.

In the years leading up to Wall Homes, Steve Wall operated the 18th largest homebuilder (3rd largest privately held) in the United States, as ranked by Builder magazine. The company built more than 4,600 homes annually under his direction. Wall has personally been responsible for the delivery of nearly 45,000 homes in his executive career.

Wall completed the Executive Advanced Management Program at the Harvard Business School in November 2001. He has earned the following recognition throughout his career:

  • CEO of the Year, 2008 Housing Giants magazine
  • Entrepreneur of the Year, 2008 SMU Cox School of Business
  • Finalist, Ernst & Young’s 2004 Entrepreneur of the Year Award
  • Homebuilding Technology Executive of the Year, 2003 Builder magazine
