Arlington Public Library Offers Free Access to Digital Newspaper Collection

The Arlington Public Library is pleased to announce the immediate availability of its new digital newspaper collection. This collection is free to library patrons and is updated daily through NewsBank, an online provider of newspapers. The Library provides Web-based access to current and archived issues of seven full-text Texas newspapers, including the Arlington Citizen-Journal.

NewsBank enables library patrons to easily search and browse current and archived news articles, editorials, reviews, birth and marriage announcements, obituaries and a variety of special sections. Patrons can use this resource for general reference or to research local and national issues, events, people, government, education, arts, business, sports, real estate and much more.

In addition to using workstations at the library, patrons can access the collection from home through the library’s Databases page. Scroll down to the Magazines, Newspapers & Journals to see all available newspapers.

These newspapers and all other databases are also easily accessible on mobile devices through the Library’s app. Patrons can download the app through Google Play or the Apple App Store and log in with their library card number to get started.
