The American Dream Story of UTA Alumnus Eddie White & Fuzzy’s Taco Shop

UT Arlington alumnus Eddie White is living his American Dream as a franchise owner of Fuzzy’s Taco Shop. White and fellow UTA graduate Clint Bixler are the first franchisees of the taco enterprise that has become popular throughout the DFW Metroplex. Today, after the initial success in Arlington and the DFW area, Fuzzy’s has been able to open more than 100 locations across the country.

The Fuzzy’s brand is known for serving garlic beef, baja fish and shrimp tacos, along with margaritas and 10 beers on tap.

The Downtown Arlington location, which opened 10 years ago in 2009, has become a favorite for UT Arlington students, faculty and staff. White later opened a second location in south Arlington, located at 4201 W Green Oaks Blvd, Arlington, TX 76016.

“Arlington embraced us from day one,” White said. “When you see the repeat customers that you know the face, you know their names, you know their kids, you just get to know who they are. You kind of feel like you’re part of their life. We hear stories of people who met at Fuzzy’s and got married.”

Fuzzy’s Taco Shop is also featured in the new Downtown Arlington is Open for Business series on MyArlingtonTV highlighting the restaurants and stores that will be open for business during the two-year Abram Street Rebuild Project. The show is part of the City’s ongoing efforts to work closely with the Downtown Arlington Management Corporation to support local businesses, communicate lane closures, construction milestones and other important information.
