Hundreds of residents attended the City of Arlington’s 3rd Annual Aging Well Expo on Thursday for free health screenings, fun fitness demos and educational sessions on how to live your best life in The American Dream City.

More than 100 vendors participated in this year’s event, a coordinated effort of the City of Arlington, Tarrant County, and many community sponsors. In addition to enjoying fitness demos such as mat yoga, Zumba Gold and line dancing at the Esports Stadium Arlington & Expo Center, Aging Well Expo attendees were invited to informational sessions on topics ranging from valuable library services to how to save money on their Arlington water bills.

Keynote speakers, former Arlington Mayor Richard Greene and his wife, Sylvia, talked about the importance of staying involved in the community, whether by voting in city and school elections, volunteering to serve on city boards and commissions or spending time helping schools and nonprofits.

Thank you to all the volunteers, vendors, guest speakers and residents who came out and helped make this year’s Aging Well Expo a success.

  1. I’ve been to all of the expos and this by far was the best one! Vendors were well equipped and very informational and the free boxed lunch was really nice. My only recommendation is that more volunteers are available to work the sign-in/registration tables….the lines got pretty long. Overall…I’m very fortunate to live in a city that cares enough about it’s citizens to offer a service like this. I look forward to the next one!
