Motorsport fans and adrenaline junkies can rejoice this weekend, as Monster Jam arrives at AT&T Stadium in Arlington’s world-class Entertainment District on Saturday, February 23, 2018 at 7 p.m. Monster Jam is a live motorsport event tour and television show featuring freestyle competitions by monster trucks. Dress in your Sunday best and join the Arlington Parks and Recreation Department for its upcoming boys-only etiquette class, scheduled from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 23 at Cliff Nelson Recreation Center. Participants ages 5-12 will learn good manners and etiquette for any formal occasion. Click here to register for the class, which is $16 per participant. Explore the nature trails surrounding the Science Center on a family-friendly guided Nature Walk this Saturday, Feb. 23 from 2-3 p.m. This event is completely free to attend. Adorable pets looking for new homes will be available at the mobile adoption unit this weekend! To help with PetSmart’s National Pet Adoption Weekend, our mobile pet adoption vehicle will be out an extra day at Arlington Highlands (Friday and Saturday, Feb. 22 & 23 from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.). Scheduled events are subject to cancellation without notice due to unfavorable weather conditions (heat, cold, storms, etc.) for the safety and protection of adoptable pets, volunteers, and staff. On Friday, February 22, 2019, residents and visitors can check out the Atlanta Rhythm Section at 7:30 p.m. at Arlington Music Hall. They have put out 15 albums of excellent original material and consistently put on entertaining live shows. On Saturday, February 23, Tracy Byrd takes the stage at 2 p.m. Signed to MCA Nashville Records in 1993, Byrd broke through on the country music scene that year with his single “Holdin’ Heaven”, which reached Number One on Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks. Saturday will also feature Stevie Ray Vaughan vs. Jimi Hendrix with Texas Flood at Forever Hendrix at 8 p.m.
This exhibition features 55 revolutionary wood-block prints by Utagawa Hiroshige (Japanese, 1797-1858), recording the scenic views along the famous “Eastern Road” that linked Edo (now Tokyo) with Kyoto, the ancient imperial capital of Japan. This popular series, known as the Fifty Three Stations of the Tokaido Road, was published in 1834 and established Hiroshige’s reputation as the foremost artist of the topographical landscape. Check out live music this weekend at Texas Live!, the new $250 million world-class dining, entertainment and hospitality district located near the Rangers’ Globe Life Park and Cowboys’ AT&T Stadium in The American Dream City. On Friday, February 22, 2019, enjoy Clayton Gardner at 9 p.m. Gardner is a singer/songwriter currently out of College Station, TX. On Saturday, February 23, 2019, residents and visitors can check out Abbey Brown & The Sound, a cover band from the Fort Worth/Arlington area.
