Arlington Joins Area Cities for Empty the Shelter Day

When cities come together for a cause, we often witness a level of success that can’t be matched when they stand alone. Meet Penny our chosen Cat of the Week. This black and brown Tabby female is two years old and weighs a little over eight pounds. According to her previous owner, Penny shared a household with another cat and a dog and was very friendly with them. Xtreme Teen Camp Helps Shelter Animals

Wet dogs shaking off tepid water all over squealing, smiling and giggling summer Xtreme Teen Campers was quite a scene at the Animal Services Center (ASC) on July 31. The center and several of its adoptable pets were energized by the 48 sixth through tenth graders attending this year’s pet grooming academy. Teens shared with their camp team leaders and Cliff Nelson Facility Manager Krissy Crosier that they “had a blast” and that they want to volunteer at the ASC. Miss Ethel is a featured Golden Paws Senior Pet. This unbelievably gorgeous cat was surrendered because her previous owner could no longer care for her due to health reasons. This loving girl is extremely friendly and social, and truly enjoys human companionship.
