Detectives searching for bird stolen during burglary of business

Burglars who broke into an Arlington automotive business last weekend took more than some tools and a vehicle. They also stole the business’ mascot – Captain Jack -, a Macaw parrot who lived in the shop. Photos of the missing bird are included in this message.

On Saturday, November 15, 2013, Bill Salmon called to report a commercial burglary at his business, Sunrise Automotive at 3217 E. Pioneer Parkway. The suspect or suspects took a vehicle that had been stored in the business after hours, tools and Captain Jack. The vehicle was recovered abandoned in Fort Worth a day after the burglary. Captain Jack remains missing.

Mr. Salmon really wants to get his bird back and is hoping that someone recognizes photographs of Captain Jack and will call Arlington Police. Captain Jack was the star of Mr. Salmon’s business with families and children regularly stopping by to talk to Captain Jack.

Anyone has any information about Captain Jack or the person who took the bird is encouraged to call Arlington Police at 817 459-5825, or Crime Stoppers at 817 459-TIPS (8477). Tipsters may remain anonymous and are eligible for a reward up to $1,000.
