Arlington Police detectives investigating the deaths of two people

The Arlington Police Department responded to a welfare check around 1:50 p.m. on Wednesday, December 10, 2014 in the 2500 block of Edinburgh Street. The initial caller reported that there could be some critically-injured people inside of the residence. Upon arrival, officers checked the location and determined that there were two adult persons who were deceased.

Investigators later determined that the suspect, a woman in her mid-30’s, left the location after this incident and was believed to have been trying to go to a hospital in the area. As a result of this additional information, APD deployed officers at area hospitals and located the suspect at Millwood Hospital located in the 1100 block of N. Cooper Street. Officers took the female suspect into custody without incident.

The suspect has been identified as Veronica Dunnachie and is facing a charge of capital murder. Detectives are looking into the familial relationship between the suspect and the victims and whether or not this is domestic-related. At this time, we do not believe that any other suspect is involved.

Out of an abundance of caVeronica Dunnachie Mug 140065805ution, officers worked with the Arlington Independent School District to lock down Bryant Elementary due to the proximity of this incident location to the school. The lock-down was lifted shortly thereafter as it was determined children could be safely released from school.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner will release the names of the deceased once a positive identification has been made and next of kin has been notified.

The mug shot for Veronica Dunnachie has been attached to this release.
